Serena

Serena strode across her office room, looking confused and exasperated all at the same time. She sat down on the crimson colored sofa, but a second later got up again, only to repeat this pattern several times. Impatient as she was in real life, Serena never had to face such dire circumstances in real life. She was a happy-go-lucky person. Sharp facial features and dreamy eyes, made every passerby to turn their heads to look at her. Her voice had a touch of chirpiness, like that of the birds before dawn. She emitted blissful and cheery vibes that for a second made you forget your own debacles and dilemmas of life. But on that particular day, Serena was everything but cheery. Her voice was course from screaming and crying. Her hazel colored eyes seemed bloodshot red from crying or anger, or maybe both. She was being blackmailed by her superiors, into forging some documents for the company, or else she would be held responsible for a death of a family member. Working in an IPP for 5 years, she did realize they were extremely powerful people, but never in her wildest dreams had she thought that they were mafia within themselves. Family hierarchy to family politics, the power sector was a cesspool. Serena was miserable in being diplomatic. Unable to hide her emotions or refuse something diplomatically, she used to mess her life in various way but mother nature sought it out and covered for her until now. Serena was blunt and straightforward. However, in front of a weapon, one must always seek diplomacy. She chose the exact opposite. Uncompromising morals were what she thought as her super power. And maybe it sounds as the right choice, but what most people forget to mention is that every powerful and impactful thing has a price. Even something so pure as moral especially if they are uncompromising ones. Serena chose her morals over life, and consequently they gifted her with death.
